My Belize adventure to be featured on Adventuregirl.com

One day, in the spirit of adventure as always, I decided I would make it my mission to get my blog a little more attention. Soon after that, one of my favorite Tweeters that I follow (@adventuregirl) announced that she was looking for writers to contribute content. Amazed at how life always seems present opportunities to those who ask, I jumped at the chance. I sent her my Belize posting and she loved it! Adventuregirl said she will not only be featuring it on her site, she will also announce on Twitter to her 1 million + followers! Just goes to show how opportunity + initiative = success!

Superbowl 2010 - I watch for the commercials of course!

Yesterday was a big day in the world of football, the Superbowl. Fans paint their faces, friends gather with crock pots full of chili-cheese dip, and viewers battle game-day traffic as they make their way to the biggest flat-screen in their area.

While I am always a fan of tradition and get-togethers, I am not a fan of football. Sitting and watching an entire game is about as enticing to me as watching paint dry. Lucky for me, the Superbowl is traditionally one of the biggest days as far as commercials go. I find myself forwarding through the game just to get to the next set of commercials.

This year's Superbowl commericals proved to be entertaining...not as good as previous years...but entertaining nonetheless. Call me sentimental, but the 2 commercials that had the biggest impact on me this year were what I'd call "warm and fuzzy". And they are (drumroll please): Google Search and Budweiser Longhorn,in that order. See for yourself.

Rain rain go away...but the rainbows can stay.

As most if you know, it's raining in Southern California this weekend. I know, big bummer...but it does offer some beautiful scenery that we Cali folk aren't usually accustomed to. Take, for example this shot of a full rainbow I snapped on the freeway (don't worry, I wasn't driving) this morning. This was about the third one I spotted and was finally able to get a good picture. I guess a little weather isn't so bad afterall. :)

Good Times with Old Friends

Wow, it's hard to believe that 2010 marks the 5 year anniversary since I graduated from business school. Time sure flies when you're having fun! Last night I met up with a bunch of friends from school and we got to catch up on what's going on in everyone's lives. Some are living/moving to other countries, some are engaged and some have kids (or have kids on the way) but overall, everyone seemed happy with where life has taken them.

What I found most interesting was that even though it has been 5 years, the minute we were all seated, it felt like nothing had changed. i guess that's the sign of good friendships. :)

We're gonna be on the Bonnie Hunt Show!

So most of you by now know that my mom was recently featured on A&E's show Hoarders. It was a scary thing to reveal such a long-kept secret on national television, but the response we've received has been nothing but positive.

Well, it seems that Bonnie Hunt also thought my mom's story was interesting enough to invite my family to be on her show. So yesterday we all traveled to Culver City and got to meet Bonnie Hunt. She is an amazing person, totally down to earth and extremely genuine. That's always nice to see in someone of celebrity status. I'll probably post more about the experience, but for now, be sure to watch our episode on March 10th!
